Meet the Team
Project Engineer
Mathijs Sijpkes
Mathijs is a project engineer from the Netherlands. After finalizing his studies in Chemical Engineering in 2018 he started working for Sulphurnet in the field of sulphur melting and purification. Mathijs specializes in process design and has been working on numerous liquid sulphur melting and filtration projects with different capacity’s starting from 86 MTPD up to 1400 MTPD. During these projects the focus was to provide the clients with a process that is completely tailor made to help them achieve their goals.
Junior Business Developer Engineer
Niek Jonker
Niek Jonker is a Business Development Engineer at Sulphurnet, working at the intersection of engineering and customer solutions within sulphur processing. With a background in Industrial Engineering, he collaborates closely with clients to understand their challenges and develop optimal, tailor‑made solutions. Niek supports customers by identifying process challenges, defining conceptual solutions, and outlining the required scope — providing the foundation for engineering services that lead to effective process improvement, design, selection, and scaling of sulphur processing systems.
Project Engineer Mechanical
José Vilaça
José Vilaça is a project engineer from Portugal. He started working for Sulphurnet in 2022. José specializes in mechanical engineering and has been working on numerous projects on liquid sulphur and other processes from the conceptual design to installation phase. The goal is always to match client's expectations with the highest quality product
Marketing Specialist
Aida Barberena
Aida holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from Universidad Centroamericana in Nicaragua. With over five years of experience in marketing and digital process optimization, she leverages her engineering background in each of her roles. Since joining Sulphurnet in 2024, she has been responsible for overseeing all internal and external communications as the Marketing Coordinator.
